Immigration Reform
It is estimated that there are between 12 to 20 Million illegal residents
in the United States, many of whom have been here for decades. Many are hard working
individuals with children that are U. S. citizens who came here for a better life for their
families. They are paying taxes and contributing to our economy. Unfortunately, many are
here to prey on society. We can no longer simply let people cross the border into the United
States. It is imperative, especially as we combat global terrorism,
that we effectively close our borders to prevent any further illegal immigration. We must
develop a "legal" immigration policy that works for our industries dependent upon an
immigrant work force. Illegal immigrants that are here to commit crimes, to join gangs, or
to prey on society must be deported as quickly as possible. Those that are here working and
contributing to society must have some path to citizenship after learning English and paying
fines for coming to this country illegally.
