Appropriate Earmarks
Congress must end the costly earmark process. Only government
projects that are fully vetted to ensure there is truly a need should be funded. Spending on
arbitrary earmarks is costing our taxpayers billions of dollars annually.
Many of these earmarks, such as the bridge to nowhere in Alaska ($300
Million), and the unwanted interchange on I-75 at Coconut Road, ($10 Million), are examples
of wasteful spending that have driven up the deficit to unsustainable levels.
